Australian Vigilance and Surveillance System for Organ Donation and Transplantation

The Australian Vigilance and Surveillance System for Organ Donation and Transplantation provides a national framework for the reporting of adverse events and reactions in the Australian donation and transplantation system. It commenced in 2017.

Supported by the Vigilance and Surveillance Expert Advisory Committee (VSEAC), the system works to identify national trends to inform clinical practice improvements. This is consistent with similar vigilance and surveillance systems globally.

This national reporting complements and works in parallel with state, territory and hospital clinical incident reporting systems.
