DonateLife Thank You Day

Each year thousands of Australian lives are saved and transformed through the generosity of organ and tissue donors and their families. 

DonateLife Thank You Day is a national day to reflect and say thanks to those generous Australians and their families who make donation possible. 

Thank You Day 2025 is held on Sunday 16 November. 

Take part in Thank You Day by sharing a thank you message on your social media channels and by spreading the word with your networks.

How can I get involved?

The official Thank You Day 2025 resources will be available closer to the date.

However, you can share a message of thanks any day.

Share your story

If you have had an organ or tissue transplant, we invite you to inspire others to register as organ and tissue donors by sharing your experience on our website and social media channels. Submit your story and read some of the inspiring stories of others.

We want all Australians to talk about organ and tissue donation. If you want to be a donor, make sure you tell your family and friends.

Registering is easy and only takes one minute. All you need is your phone, Medicare card and one minute to register.

It doesn’t matter how old you are, your medical history, your lifestyle, what country you’re from or how healthy you are — you can still register as an organ and tissue donor.

The Organ and Tissue Authority acknowledges the traditional owners of country throughout Australia, and their continuing connection to land, sea and community. We pay our respects to them and their cultures, and to elders both past and present.
