Thank you for taking one minute to register to be a donor. You could one day save and improve the lives of many Australians through the gift of organ and tissue donation.

Now that you are registered, make sure you talk to your family about your wishes.

What happens next?

Services Australia will send you a donor card. It will take about 3 weeks to arrive in the post. You can carry your physical card with you as a symbol of your decision to donate. However, you don't need to carry it to have your organs donated.

Having an issue?

You can contact Services Australia or go via your Medicare account on MyGov or on the Medicare Express Plus app if you:

  • have not received your Donor Card
  • need a replacement card
  • want to change your details
  • select which organs and tissue you would like to donate.

Please note: DonateLife can not assist with sending out donor cards or with changes to your information on the Australian Organ Donor Register.

We want all Australians to talk about organ and tissue donation. If you want to be a donor, make sure you tell your family and friends.

Registering is easy and only takes one minute. All you need is your phone, Medicare card and one minute to register.

It doesn’t matter how old you are, your medical history, your lifestyle, what country you’re from or how healthy you are — you can still register as an organ and tissue donor.

The Organ and Tissue Authority acknowledges the traditional owners of country throughout Australia, and their continuing connection to land, sea and community. We pay our respects to them and their cultures, and to elders both past and present.
