Event date

Event location

Australia

Event details

Each Saffron Day, we ask Australians to wear orange and have a conversation with family and friends about organ and tissue donation.

Saffron Day was inspired by 7-year-old Deyaan Udani, who gave the gift of life to 4 people when he became an organ donor. Orange was Deyaan’s favourite colour.

Saffron Day is all about raising awareness of organ and tissue donation. It’s fun, free, and you could help save a life by registering as an organ and tissue donor and telling your family and friends.

How to get involved

  1. Wear orange on Thursday 22 October and encourage your school or workplace to do the same.
  1. Take a photo or video.
  1. Post it on social media and use the hashtags #saffronday #donatelife #doitfordeyaan
  1. Spread the word about organ and tissue donation in your caption, such as:
  • ‘Saffron Day is the perfect opportunity to start a conversation about organ and tissue donation.’
  • ‘Saffron Day is the perfect opportunity to talk to your loved ones about organ and tissue donation’.
  1. Talk to your friends and family about organ and tissue donation.
