Arghavan became an organ donor

A woman is standing indoors in front of a large multi-pane window with bright natural light streaming through. The individual is wearing a crisp white button-up shirt paired with fitted white pants and dark ankle boots. The person is leaning slightly back against the window ledge with hands resting on it, and the floor is made of wooden planks. The background outside the window shows a blurred view of a building and some greenery.
She had such a generous character and she always wanted to help people in her life.

Arghavan was vibrant and full of life. An accomplished person, she knew 3 languages and was passionate about health and fitness.

After emigrating from Iran, Arghavan built a new life in Australia with her husband Moh, raising 2 wonderful daughters. Arghavan always dreamed of becoming a model, and she was so excited to land her very first job, before tragedy changed everything.

Arghavan had a history of epilepsy and suffered a cardiac arrest after a seizure, which she sadly did not recover from. She was just 34 years old.

Despite his grief, Moh courageously made the decision to donate Arghavan’s organs to save the lives of others. Her gifts went on to help 7 people.

It was bittersweet that Arghavan achieved her dream of becoming a model, with her first and last modelling shoot photos being published after she died. Moh remembers his wife being beautiful, both inside and out.

‘I told the nurse that Arghavan would like to donate because I knew her character – she had such a generous character and she always wanted to help people in her life,’ said Moh. ‘My oldest daughter understands that her mum’s organs have been donated and she’s so proud.’

Hearing from the recipients of Arghavan’s organs and reading how her donations saved them has brought Moh a great deal of comfort. He encourages all of the recipients to make the most of their second chance.

‘Enjoy your life – the organs that have been donated to you have come from a person that meant so much to us,’ said Moh.
