Saffron Day

Event date

Friday, October 22, 2021 (All day)

Saffron Day is an annual national event organised by the family and firends of young organ donor, Deyaan Udani, to raise awareness about organ donation.

In 2016 seven-year-old Deyaan gave the ultimate gift, becoming an organ donor while on a family holiday in India. Young Deyaan and his sister had previously learned about organ donation at their school in Sydney, telling their parents they wanted to be donors.

On 22 October, people are encouraged to wear saffron or orange in memory of Deyaan, register their decision to become an organ and tissue donor and have the conversation with their loved ones about donation.
