Education programs:

DonateLife NT offers education sessions on organ and tissue donation to the healthcare sector and the community. We are available to visit schools, private businesses and community organisations, delivering presentations that range from 15 minutes up to an hour. Issues covered include:

  • the importance of organ and tissue donation
  • organs and tissues that can be donated
  • the process of donation
  • dispelling some of the myths
  • how to register on the Australian Organ Donor Register (AODR)

For more information on how to arrange a presentation please call DonateLife on (08) 8922 8349.

Volunteer opportunities:

Community volunteers are always greatly valued and directly contribute to an increased awareness of organ and tissue donation within the Northern Territory.

One of the roles of DonateLife NT is to educate and inform the community about organ and tissue donation. The opportunity exists for Indigenous volunteers to work with DonateLife in Indigenous communities to support education and an increased understanding of organ donation.

For more information about this please call DonateLife on (08) 8922 8349.

Thanksgiving Service:

Thanksgiving Services are held annually in Darwin in memory of donors and their families who have consented to donation at a time of great personal loss. It is a time for donor families, recipients and others to come together for reflection and remembrance.
