DonateLife | Australian Organ & Tissue Donation and Transplantation Authority

Ms Francesca Rourke

Ms Francesca Rourke has been on organ donor coordinator for some years, commencing in her role prior to the implementation of the national reform agenda.

Ms Rourke is the outgoing President of the Australian Transplant Coordinators Association (ATCA), having held the position for the past four years. ATCA predominantly represents nurses involved in donation and transplantation - the majority of members are DonateLife Network staff.

In addition, Ms Rourke has represented ATCA on the Transplantation Society of Australia and New Zealand (TSANZ) Council for the past four years and has established strong professional relationships with the Council and other transplant staff.

Ms Rourke is based at Princess Alexandra Hospital and has been instrumental in strengthening relationships between the Authority and the DonateLife Network nurses during her tenure as President. She is the inaugural ATCA representative, working with the Authority and TSANZ to implement the a raft of donation improvement activities identified in the Authority/TSANZ/ATCA funding agreement and has indicated a willingness to remain involved with the Authority and the ongoing implementation of the national reform agenda, now that her tenure as President has come to an end.
