Community Awareness Grants

The outcomes of the Organ and Tissue Authority's recent round of Community Awareness Grants to support DonateLife Week 2012 has been announced by the Parliamentary Secretary for Health and Ageing, Catherine King.  The Authority's grants program assists organisations with activities that contribute to improving the awareness of organ and tissue donation among Australians.

When can applications be submitted?

Community Awareness Grants are invited at times throughout the year to support the Australian Government's National Reform Agenda, A World's Best Practice Approach to Organ and Tissue Donation in Australia.

As part of this National Reform Agenda, the Organ and Tissue Authority is committed to achieving a sustainable and lasting increase in rates of organ and tissue donation to improve access for Australians to life-saving and life-transforming transplantations.

Applications are not currently being accepted. The opening date for the next round of Community Awareness Grants will be announced in 2012. Visit this website regularly for updates on the grants program.

Who can apply?

Grant recipients should be non-government organisations (i.e. not funded solely through Commonwealth monies). To be eligible for funding, projects should have a not for profit focus and/or organisations should be a not for profit organisation, a community organisation or a local government association or agency.

Those eligible to be grants recipients are non-government organisations and professional bodies, including community-based, not for profit organisations or local government associations. Organisations without legal status must have an auspicing agency to be eligible for this funding round.

The assessment criteria is contained in the updated Community Awareness Grants Guidelines.

How can my organisation apply?

When a funding round is open, applications must be completed using the Community Awareness Grants Application Template provided by the Authority.
