Alagna Films, with financial assistance from the Australian Government, have created a community engagement program kit to supplement the screening of their film The Last Race.
The community engagement program kit includes:
- A study guide;
- Interviews with individuals working in the sector;
- Key people involved in the creation of the film; and
- Information based on existing DonateLife public communication messaging.
This kit is aimed at prompting more Australian families to discover the facts about organ and tissue donation, make and register their informed decision and most importantly discussing their decision with their family.
The Last Race showcases a situation all Australian families could at some stage find themselves in as they struggle to make a decision on behalf of a loved one, and a race against time to save a life.
The story was developed using extensive research from individuals who work in the donation sector. The conversations and themes within the film also explore the myths and misconceptions surrounding organ donation and the barriers that are eventually overcome which have been incorporated into the education kit.
