2016 Community Awareness Grants

The Organ and Tissue Authority invites applications for Community Awareness Grants to promote organ and tissue donation.

Applications are invited to participate in the 2016 Community Awareness Grants program, which provides funding for community-based awareness and education activities that contribute to increasing public understanding of and support for organ and tissue donation for transplantation.

Project activities should be clearly aligned with the national DonateLife Community Awareness and Education program. The focus of activities should be on promoting awareness of the Australian Organ Donor Register and how to register, and the importance of family discussion knowledge of donation decisions.

Applicants may choose to focus their project activities on engagement with the general community. Alternatively, applicants are encouraged to target their project activities on those priority groups that are less likely to have decided or discussed organ and tissue donation – multicultural, Indigenous, young adult (18-29 years) or male audiences.

Total funding of up to $463,000 is available in the 2016 Community Awareness Grants program for applications under the following two categories:

  1. Community awareness and education activities to be held during DonateLife Week 2016 (Sunday 31 July – Sunday 7 August); and/or
  2. Targeted community awareness and education activities which are outside of DonateLife Week, and are aligned to the Organ and Tissue Authority’s national Community Awareness and Education Program.

The closing date for applications is 5.00pm AEST on Wednesday 6 April 2016.

Please direct all enquiries to grants@donatelife.gov.au or phone (02) 6198 9800.
