Congratulations to the Intensive Care Unit at Armadale Health Services

An Intensive Care Unit in Armadale Health Services was one of four finalists in the team excellence award category for the 2016 HESTA national nursing awards.

The team received the nomination for developing a hospital-wide program which would allow for organ retrieval operations to be conducted on site for the first time.

Working closely with DonateLife WA, the Intensive Care Unit also developed policies, procedures and education for staff to enable them to lead the discussion about organ and tissue donation with grieving families.

We congratulate the Intensive Care Unit at Armadale Health Services for their commitment to increasing the capability and capacity within the health system to maximise donation rates and striving for a best practice approach to organ and tissue donation for transplantation.
