Central Northern Adelaide Renal & Transplantation Service are inviting former living kidney donors to recognise the vital contribution they have made to transplantation and to the health of others.

In DonateLife Week we will be celebrating both living and deceased donation. 2017 also marks the 20th anniversary of the first successful laparoscopic (keyhole) living kidney donation in Australia which was performed at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital by Mr Mohan Rao AM.  Since this first operation in Adelaide this technique has now become established as the preferred way for living kidney donation for transplantation.

During the afternoon we will gather to celebrate living donation and the vital contribution that it makes to organ transplantation in South Australia.  We will hear from Ms Nat Cook MP representing the Minister for Health, Mr Mohan Rao AM and donors and recipients, as well as hear about the progress that has been made in Australia and internationally with living donation and the difference that it makes to our population.
